Influential San Francisco based indie rock band, The Dodos have signed to a new record label. Polyvinyl Records partnered with the talented duo (Meric Long and Logan Kroeber) to release their 5th studio album, which is due out later this year. The Dodos are nothing short of a Bay Area music scene staple, and their new album and connection with Polyvinyl is expected to bring the band continued success, and promote a long and stable musical career.

Oakland based alternative indie rock band, Mister Lovless is set to headline the bay area’s newest buzzband, Teenage Sweater‘s vinyl release party on May 15th at Elbo Room in San Francisco. SF based, Happy Fangs and Portlnd band, Here Comes Dots will round out the bill for this event. Teenage Sweater has earned impressive local and national acclaim for their flawless debut full length album, Concentration (Tricycle Records). Concentration will be available on vinyl on the May 15th.

San Francisco based high glam electronic dream pop band, Stripmall Architecture has released a new single from their forthcoming LP. The band’s latest single, which has been released as a free digital download and a music video is entitled, Commuter. Commuter is a satirical track about the realities of traveling hours to work a 9 to 5 job, and the mundaness the process entails. The video is impressively professional, and the song is just as well produced. Stripmall Architecture creates on a very high, polished and aesthetically potent level.

Bay Area based band, The Tenderloins are playing live in Oakland, CA tomorrow night. The Tenderloins will be sharing with the bill with other local bands, Big Family Band and Great American Cities at the live music venue, Uptown. San Francisco based, self proclaimed "altronica" rock band, Koruscant Weekend has released a new single entitled, Last Train Home. Last Train Home is a heavily energetic synth dance song that permeates personality and vigor. The band’s third EP will be released later this year, and this brand new single is a confident taste of what their new album will be dolling out to their fans.

Congratualtions to the ultra talented, and apearently ultra popular Oakland based, singer/songwriter, Morgan Manifacier for winning The Deli Magazine San Francisco’s Artist of the Month poll. Morgan’s music is entrancing, subtle, and very moving. It’s no wonder he has so many fans that have taken the time to vote for him. We’re glad that this talented musician and singer has received this honor. The people have spoken! Congratulations Morgan!

San Francisco based singer/songwriter, Jessica Pratt has announced that she will be embarking on an extensive tour to promote her 2012 self titled album (Birth Records). Bay Area based psyched out, garage rock duo, Life Coach has dropped a new single called, Fireball. Fireball is a track from their newly released LP, Alphawaves (Thrill Jockey Records). Oakland based slow core, electro acoustic rock band, Date Palms have released a new single in anticipation of their upcoming album The Dusted Sessions (Thrill Jockey Records) due out in June 2013. The band’s new single entitled Yuba Reprise, is a slowly simmering instrumental art song that is peaceful and moving.
