Talk of Shamans False Priest Peachelope and bAd bAd Play Publik / Private Event at Amnesia TONIGHT

Posted on:

A stellar line up of some of the Bay Area’s finest garage folk and alternative bands will be performing for the first night of the San Francisco based arts and music nonprofit, Publik / Private’s Tuesday night residency at Amnesia.

Journalist and radio host, Victor Valle curated the event under the moniker Counter Culture Presents after his management firm Counter Culture Artist Management. But it’s not about business tonight, this event is for a good cause and every Tuesday in September Publik / Private will highlight a new line up from a local promoter, artist or community leader who believes in supporting the Bay Area arts community as much as Publik / Private and The Deli Magazine SF do.

We know that San Francisco has been going through a super rough time when it comes to venues and artists no longer being able to work and live in their own community. This event will help bring opportunities to artists and writers by connecting them with job and internship opportunities, it will also allow Publik / Private to continue to put on events that give exposure to young and seasoned musicians alike. We like this!

Make your way out to Amnesia tonight to see Talk of Shamans, False Priest, Peachelope and bAd bAd.

Congratulations to Lee Gallagher and The Hallelujah for winning the The Deli Magazine San Francisco Artist of the Month Poll!

It was a bit of a close race, but they came out on top and have become The Deli Magazine SF’s Artist of the Month! The fans and readers have chosen their top choice and we personally love this band’s high intensity Zepplin – psych revival style of music. If you want to witness a pristine rock and roll show that will make you think in the back of your mind that you’re having a religious experience, Lee Gallagher is the band to see.

We wish them the best in all their endeavors! We dig the music!

You can catch them live at The Chapel in San Francisco on Thursday, September 4th!

Spider Heart Plays Full Acoustic Set – 8/29

Posted on:

The heavy, in-your-face, punk positive – riff blaring San Francisco based band, Spider Heart will be performing an acoustic set this Friday, August 29th. Yes, you read right: Spider Heart will be playing their very first acoustic show at a small venue in the heart of the city called, The Vortex Room. If you’ve seen this band perform live, you know that their unplugged set is going to be a really amazing experience.

The softer, quieter Spider Heart will be sharing a bill with Paula Frazer, Zoe Blank and San Pond. The Vortex Room is a cozy little venue, but if you’re looking to find a place where you can express yourself loudly and stretch your legs across the aisles of the room, you may want to skip this event. It takes a level of diplomacy and grace to experience a show at The Vortex Room.

You’ll be sitting in close quarters with music connoisseurs and friends and family. Do your best not to miss this show! It will be one of those unique nights that you’ll remember for a long time. –je

False Priest Clumsy Concentration The Twitches and Punisher Play Bottom of the Hill TONIGHT

Posted on:

There is an exciting local show coming up TONIGHT. San Francisco based music venue, Bottom of the Hill will be hosting a night of local alternative rock with Punisher, The Twitches, Clumsy Concentration and False Priest.

Full on local shows are so rare to find (Punisher has recently moved to Oregon, but their hometown is San Francisco), so it’s nice to see the music community coming together as a full line up.

Clumsy Concentration is a hardworking teenage band making their way up the local music ranks. They’ll probably find moderate success before they can drive a car or drink. Shout out to the cool parents who support them! Punisher is a garage pop band who, as mentioned, are traveling down south from Eugene, Oregon to return to their Bay Area roots to play this gig. The Twitches is a slightly eerie pop alternative band. Their music is fast paced and will have you shuffling around the dance floor! False Priest is an established Bay Area band whose music goes from being heavy and grungy to minimal and anti folk. Their eclectic style is fun and interesting, and their lyrics are super dark and ironic. We like it!

You won’t want to miss this show!
