Ecstatic Vision has a new single, “Grasping the Void,” which is featured on their forthcoming album FOR THE MASSES, due out September 20 via Relapse Records. A chugging bass and bright flurries of flute coexist, creating a weighted, spacey sound. The commanding, tunneling tone of Doug Sabolik’s vocals and the fuzz of guitar pulls you further into the vortex. It’s a heavy-psych excursion that you’ll definitely want to explore. New Dialer EP Available for Streaming & Purchase
Dialer recently shared four new songs on Tour Tape 2019, which is now available via SRA Records. Raw aggression and fury are unleashed. The immediate ferocity is palpable as a natural, fluid movement thrives within the menace. And with its physical cassette, you will also get extra material that can’t be found anywhere online.
New Luke Harsel Album Available for Streaming & Download
Luke Harsel (of Dweller) has released a collection of songs, titled Objects in the Mirror. Absorb the ambient-folk sounds as they provide a graceful, gliding, slightly-warped atmosphere. It is best to be listened to when day turns to night and night turns to day. Tomorrow evening, you can find Harsel performing with Dweller at The Grape Room, with The Barker Brothers, Coleman Rigg & The Ridge Runners, and The Savories.
New Track: “of Iron” (Feat. Gozu) – Acid Orphan
Acid Orphan, a.k.a. Andrea O. Bullard (of Etheric Felines), recently released a new single. DJ Diabolic handles production on “Of Iron,” which also features Gozu. Envisioning a time-traveling, alternative reality of living during the time of Genghis Khan, the track exhibits authoritative aggression. This storming delivery is compounded by the rock/hip-hop hybrid beat, injected with noise, as the percussive push remains omnipresent. An attacking intensity permeates within an energetic exuberance.
New Music Video: “Anna” – The Menzingers
The Menzingers recently shared a new video for “Anna,” the lead single from their forthcoming Will Yip-produced album Hello Exile. The imagery candidly chronicles one’s movements throughout the days and nights in the city. It’s a video-diary of longing, which demonstrates the void created by missing an integral part of your life. The band is slated to perform at Franklin Music Hall on Friday, November 29, as part of a lineup that also includes Tigers Jaw and Culture Abuse. The band also announced that Hello Exile is due to drop on October 4 via Epitaph.

New Track: “Bloom” – Heatmap
Thank, the forthcoming EP from Heatmap, was recorded by Jeff Zeigler at Uniform Recording, and is scheduled to arrive on July 26. As a precursor, its lead single, “Bloom,” is out now. A gritty groove serves as the core to a track that grows, with clean, calculated, guitar lines branching outward. On Saturday, July 27, Ortlieb’s will be hosting Heatmap’s record release show, where the band will be supported by Goldenaire and Desperate Living.
Weekend Warrior – July 12 – 14
Dreamswell will be celebrating its debut full-length LP SPOILED with a performance this evening at Boot & Saddle. Haunting, weighted ambiance quakes and shudders throughout the album. The songs sonically realize ominous, brutal, bombarding tones that melodically shred within treacherous terrains. Somehow during those nightmarish, ominous sequences, as the percussion pulverizes, one finds a peaceful, placid, shoegazing perspective. Dreamswell will be supported by the raw, raucous, mesmerizing metal of Witching and the rhythmically rolling, synth-fueled darkwave of SOLD, as well as NYC’s Stay at Home Dads. – Michael Colavita

New Track: “Cursed” – Grayling
“Cursed” is the latest single from Lexi Campion, a.k.a. Grayling, who recently signed with 6131 Records. Drums and bass converge accelerating the track aggressively forward as the vocals enter in a momentary reprieve, but then shift in an uproarious assertive chorus. One becomes invigorated by the fuzz-laced, bass-thumping, tenacious melody.
New Track: “Get Lost” – Queen of Jeans
Queen of Jeans‘s forthcoming album, If you’re not afraid, I’m not afraid, is slated to arrive on August 23 via Topshelf Records. The trio recently shared a new video, co-directed by Miriam Devora & Bob Sweeney, for its lead single, “Get Lost”. It appears to also mark the departure of Nina Scotto from the group. (You can check the debut single, "Time Is Right," from her new project Pouring Silver HERE.) Addressing feelings of isolation and sadness and coming to terms with them through personal strength and acceptance, the band’s latest track gathers anthemic momentum. It’s an absolutely lovely sampling of what’s to come. You can catch Queen of Jeans headlining Boot & Saddle on Friday, September 6.
New Purling Hiss EP Available for Streaming & Purchase
"Summer meanz guitarz!" With Purling Hiss‘s latest EP Interstellar Blue, a gravitational pull of heavy is balanced by an ethereal drift. Its languid, mind-warping, guitar grooves have arrived just in time for the dog days of summer – a sublime complement to a frosty beverage and a fat spliff. You can grab your very own copy via Drag City Records. Purling Hiss are also all set to kick off their run of July shows this evening at PhilaMOCA, supported by The Writhing Squares and Long Hots.
New Track: “Time Is Right” – Pouring Silver
The quartet of Jo Kusy (Far-Out Fangtooth, The Whips), Travis Weissman (Haunted Homes), Nina Scotto (Fake Nudes, Queen of Jeans), and Adam Herndon (A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Pet Milk) have combined forces to form Pouring Silver. "Time Is Right" is the band’s debut single. One slips into a melodic, daydreamy haze as the song gently drifts and sways. With a Jeff Ziegler-produced EP in the works, this is definitely just the beginning for this gang of Philly music scene vets. Pouring Silver is slated to perform on Thursday, August 15 at Beautiful World Syndicate, on a lineup that also includes Jack Name and Elison Jackson. (Photo by Alex Philippe Cohen)
