If you don’t already have a Halloween mix for your party tonight, then Diplo has you covered. He teamed up with Philly producer/video director System D-128 to create a three-hour Halloween-themed mix for his weekly BBC Radio 1Xtra program, “Diplo and Friends.” The first two-thirds are Diplo’s picks, and the final selections come from System D-128, which consists of a shitload of Three 6 Mafia tunes to help close things out. You can take a listen below as well as download it for free.

Dress Up and Make A Sound w/The Spinto Band & Toy Soldiers at JB’s Oct. 31

Posted on:
Delaware outfit and adopted Philadelphians The Spinto Band are hosting a Halloween show tonight at Johnny Brenda’s that they’ve dubbed “Dress Up and Make A Sound.” Besides having the creepy, ultra-rad flier (above), it’s hard to imagine the feel good indie popsters scaring anyone this evening, but it doesn’t mean that they won’t be bringing the fun as well as some nifty costumes. And the energy will certainly be intensified by soulful, rootsy rock ‘n’ rollers Toy Soldiers. They’ll also be joined by tasty pop Pittsburgh six-piece Delicious Pastries, and DJ Langor will be spinning tunes throughout the evening. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ – H.M. Kauffman

Tuesday Tune-Out w/The Bailey Hounds at PhilaMOCA Oct. 30

Posted on:
Now that the worst of Sandy seems to be over, you are probably ready to get out of your place. Well, tonight is the final Swollen Fox-curated Tuesday Tune-Out with The Bailey Hounds. The shadowy indie-folk outfit is certainly a band that will embrace the Halloween spirit. After all, they did perform in a cemetery earlier this year so the group should feel right at home playing in the former mausoleum turned multipurpose art space. The Bailey Hounds will be screening a classic 70s horror film, providing free alcohol from Narragansett, Art in the Age and Spondee, and decorating the venue for those who can’t get enough of the Halloween season. (Ha…they could probably use some of the decorations from our Halloweeniversary Party this past Friday that we left behind. BTW: PhilaMOCA, save those decorations for us since we paid for them and will need them again next year!) PhilaMOCA, 531 N. 12th St., 8pm, $5, All Ages – H.M. Kauffman

Free Download: “Mother” (Danzig Cover) – The Bailey Hounds

Check out The Bailey Hounds’ cover of Danzig’s “Mother” (which feels quite appropriate for these dreary days that are upon us)! The band is currently scheduled to perform tomorrow at PhilaMOCA for The Swollen Fox’s final Tuesday Tune-Out, but if the weather predictions are accurate, then the show will be rescheduled to the next evening (Halloween).
