Ah…did you know A Sunny Day in Glasgow just put out a Christmas cassette? The adventurous group has a new release Sketch for Christmas I: New Christmas Classics, which is available via Geography North. You can take a listen to the charming single "Saturn Pulls Me Apart (Death Of The Unconquerable Night)." It’s included on the black liquorice tape (limited 300) that will also come with three other tracks. Make the soundtrack to your family get-together a lot hipper this year.

Busses shared a new song called "Rain," which which will appear on their upcoming album, Wizard of the Eye, scheduled for release February 17, 2015. A dampening blend of synth, bass, percussion illustrates the sonic setting. Then, the vocals explain a mindset as horns round out the picture, and a slick fiery guitar comes through, escalating a somewhat smooth environment before calming to a resolution. Busses will performing along with Myrrias and Exit Verse on Wednesday, December 10 at Boot & Saddle.

Daytrotter just posted a new session with indie-pop five-piece Cheerleader. You can take a listen and download it for free HERE (w/membership). The session was recorded with vintage gear to tape. They are currently on tour, and will be performing next in Philly on Saturday, December 20 at Johnny Brenda’s.  

Dirty Dollhouse shares a whole lotta heartbreak and lush harmonies on their new four-song EP 25 Shades, which you can stream and purchase below. The local female folk-pop trio is led by singer-songwriter Chelsea Mitchell, who is accompanied by Vanessa Winters (of The Lawsuits) and Amber Twait. The album was produced by Brian Dale Allen Strouse (The Lawsuits), and the group will be celebrating its release this Friday, December 5 at Bourbon & Branch.

Void Vision, a.k.a. Shari Vari, celebrates the release of her latest record Sub Rosa (Mannequin Records) this evening at Kung Fu Necktie. The album has a persistent percussive synth base, which predatorily lurks, providing a drafty dangerous atmosphere. However, these ominous tones simultaneously cause a protective shot of adrenaline, letting you escape into back alley groove, while eluding caution in favor of experience. Tonight, The Bad Doctors will join them in their dark-wave endeavor; the group’s heart-thumping, dance-accelerating electro-post punk takes varying sonic turns, rocketing through a narrowing unlit street that has the potential to lead to an airy open field. The bill will also feature Morsberger brothers experimental noise outfit Drums Like Machine Guns and the NYC-based synth-pop of YOU (whom are also on Blind Prophet Records with Void Vision). The Ambulars‘ Michael Cantor just released a lovely new full-length album, Silver Blues, under his moniker The Goodbye Party. The multi-instrumentalist recorded it at his home in Philly, from April – September 2014.
