“Housefly” is the new single from Cheeky, a.k.a. Kaylee Sabatino. A ghostly, ominous, electro-percussive suspense lingers in the bare atmosphere – one that is reinforced by the isolated chill of the vocals and the wind-blowing, veiled, noir minimalism of the video. Looking back on what once was, the narrator appears to be in a period of change/transition. Cheeky is slated to take part in Ellen Siberian Tiger’s Halloween Bash, at Underground Arts on Thiursday, October 24, which also features Rana Ransom and Soul Cannon.
New Track: “The City’s Our Song” – Harmony Woods
“The City’s Our Song” is the latest single from Harmony Woods‘s forthcoming album, Make Yourself At Home, which is scheduled for release on October 4 via Skeletal Lightning. For at least one evening, everything appears to fall into place, and this infectious, melodic rocker captures those memorable moments. Harmony Woods will be hosting the record’s release celebration at Everybody Hits on Friday, October 11, joined by Highnoon, Sammy Heck, and Monster Bad.
New Track: “Dead Batteries” – Conversations
Conversations‘s forthcoming album, Journey to Edge of the Galaxy, is scheduled to arrive on September 27. As a precursor, the band recently shared a new single, “Dead Batteries”. Its narrator embraces what lies ahead as it reflects on a former relationship in an energetic, hook-fueled fashion. You can catch the band’s free record release show at The Barbary on Friday, September 27, with support from The Towering Pine and South On Sunday.
New False Tracks Album Available for Streaming & Purchase
The quartet of False Tracks recently released a new album, Either World, which was recorded by Uniform Recording’s Jeff Ziegler. A spacious, new-wave jangle melds with persistent backend and bass-thumping rhythms, creating an urgent, adventurous dynamic. The ability to push the pace, exuding a timely grit while remaining instrumentally locked-in, produces a memorable collection of tracks. The band also has a new video to accompany album opener "Psyops". ("Fans of the Amazing Kreskin, Smell-o-vision, and Horrors of the Black Museum, indulge yourselves.")
New Track: “Problem With The World” – The Retinas
Garage-rock power trio The Retinas has a new full-length self-titled album coming out on October 25 via Medical Records. The LP’s lead single, "Problem With The World," is an oldie but a goodie from the bands catalogue, with new arrangements and lyrics. It’s an anthem for the misunderstood. You’re not alone. Enjoy!

New Sun Organ LP Available for Streaming & Purchase
Sun Organ just dropped a new self-titled full-length album. Eerie, heavy instrumentation paints an unforgiving sonic landscape, which is cut through and given a personal, peaceful perspective by the vocals. That shifting balance of melody and mysterious danger is a vibrant, volatile dynamic. Dig in!
New Track: “Politics of Love” – Blush Cameron
Formerly known as COMPs, Blush Cameron recently shared a new song, called “Politics of Love”. A tale of leaving yourself exposed in the hope of finding love, the track embodies an optimistic, yearning, bedroom-pop sound. Accentuated by the warmth of keys, it hopefully progresses describing how despite the pitfalls of failure, you keep getting up to try again. Trust us. You aren’t alone.
New Night Sins Album Available for Streaming & Purchase
Portrait in Silver is the new album from Night Sins, a.k.a. Kyle Kimball (of Nothing), and is available via Louisville, KY’s Funeral Party. The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Nick Bassett (Whirr/Nothing). The recordings stealthily stride through the darkness in a ghostly, synth-forward manner, admittedly more akin to Depeche Mode’s Violator than The Sisters of Mercy’s Floodland. Night Sins will be bringing the retro dance party into the shadows this evening at Johnny Brenda’s, with support from Carnivorous Bells, Forever Chasing Honey Bees, and Drowse.
