It was only a matter of time before this signing took place. If you have ever heard the vintage sounds of JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound you know why the new partnership with Bloodshot Records is very fitting. The band will release their Bloodshot Records debut album,Want More, later this fall.
The band will be performing on June 16th at Ravina with Robert Plant & The Band of Joy, and at The Taste of Randolph Street on June 18th at 5pm.
The Dust Bunnies and Plustapes offically announced the band’s new tape "We Are Not Alone" late last week. You can stream samples from this cosmic psych album here. The release will be in an edition of 100 and is now available.

The Loneliest Monk have announced the details of their next release and it will be a 7" called "Hiding Places/He Is The Bad One". The single will be released by Kilo Records on July 8th.
The band will be celebrating the release on July 8th at Reggies Rock Club with Stephen Paul Smoker and Flying Cars.

I am not sure how I missed it, but late last year the local label HBSP-2X released a split ep from two of the best dance rock band’s in the city, Mahjongg and Chandeliers. Santah is set to release their new album White Bed Noise through their new label No Sleep Records on June 7th. Last fall, the band recorded a great session with Big Ugly Yellow Couch. Santah is performing with Pet Lions and The Names That Spell at Beat Kitchen on June 18th, and DO312 are giving away two tickets if you click a "like" button.

Just as their romance novel album cover and straight foward title of We Should Be Together would suggest Squat The Condos write love songs. However, they are occasionally tongue-in-cheek, and always filled with raw ’60’s bubble gum pop sounds. The released their latest album back and March and are performing at Empty Bottle on May 31st (tonight!).
Rest in Peace Gil Scott-Heron, born April 1, 1949 in Chicago and died today, May 27th 2011.
