Thomas Fricilone (aka Heartichoke) has released a new ep called Litost. The six song project is available on his tumblr and will only cost you a tweet.

Heartichoke will be performing a free show at Saki on June 12th at 4pm.

Living Room Songs has posted a video with the Lakeview band Lee. I can’t seem to find a website to link to, but I am loving the song they performed called "Your Language".

The duo of Nicholas Kelley and Nicholas Papaleo have only been together for a year, but have pulled together a debut effort that is polished, wildly entertaining, and that reaches into several areas of music. The are piano-driven, epic soundscapes and math-rock moments alike. Though just six tracks "Cold Comes To Claim" covers an impressive amount of ground. The opener "Beware" is a call to order for the listener as it shifts and morphs throughout its five-plus minutes. The track is grand and stripped-down all in the matter of minutes.

If I had to draw comparisons to Brontosaurus I would reluctantly say Death Cab For Cutie or possibly Cold War Kids. However, I do feel Brontosaurus has managed to cover more ground that Cold War Kids. The second track on the LP is "Bloodlines", and it begins with a classical guitar solo and then builds and broods through the labored melodies this duo has created. My favorite on the album is "Designed Disabled", mainly because of the effects they have put on the vocals. I feel it is one of the more inventive tracks on the album. "Cold Comes To Claim" will be released on June 14th.

Brontosaurus is departing on an East Coast tour on June 14th that will end here in Chicago on July 7th with a free (with rsvp, rsvp@emptybottle.com) show at Empty Bottle with Color Radio.

My Gold Mask have released two new remixes of their tracks "Violet Eyes" and "‎Ghost In Your Bed" in the last few weeks from artist Baryshnikov and Robots With Rayguns.

Evan Thomas Weiss (aka Into It. Over It) has released a new split 7" single with Such Gold through No Sleep Records. Later this month he will be in the studio recording his debut full-length album for No Sleep.

Into It. Over It also has a project coming out this fall with that was recorded here in Chicago at Drasik Studios with Koji.

Have you ever wanted to watch Ezra Furman make out with a series of random people? Well, today is your lucky day. Paste has premiered the video for the band’s new track "Bloodsucking Whore" which appears on Mysterious Power (Red Parlor, April 2011).

The band is performing at Ribfest Chicago on June 11th at 7:45pm on the South Stage. 

The debut album "Bones" from the punk group Cave Bear is available for free as a digital download for a limited time. All you have to do is go to their website before June 14th and either tweet or "like" the album and you will get it for free.

The band is celebrating the release of the album on June 13th with a free show at Empty Bottle with Cloud Mouth, Coping, and Living & Wrestling.

Los Angeles musician Active Child just announced the details of his debut full-length album You Are All I See which will be released on August 23rd through Vagrant. The first single from the album features Chicago’s How To Dress Well and is called "Playing House".

How To Dress Well will be performing at Pitchfork Music Fest on July 17th.

Kidz in the Hall have premired a new six part reality show that will document the creation of their new ep Here Now. This is part of MTV’s series "Sucker Free".

Rockie Fresh is back with a new project called The Otherside Redux which is remixes and b-sides from his previous release The Otherside. The album drops on June 29th and features contributions from Lil B, Casey Veggies, Naledge, Phil Ade, Rich Hil, and many others. The video below is from the track "Sofa King Cole".
