Last year R3id released an epic, incredibly ambitious album called A Is For Ella. Musically, she blends dream pop, folk, and elements of musical theater but it is the overarching story the album tells that is wildly compelling.

Bitchin Bajas “Amorpha”

Experimental trio Bitchin Bajas have released the opening track, "Amorpha", from their forthcoming double LP, Bajascillators, which is due out via Drag City on September 2nd.

This is the work of Cooper Crain, Rob Frye, and Daniel Quinlivan.

"Amorpha" is accompanied by the Kyle Armstrong created video below.

Brady “You Sleep While They Watch”

Brady have released their debut full-length album, You Sleep While They Watch, via Flesh & Bone Records. The album’s lead single, "Power Suck", is accompanied by the video below.

This is the work of Sam Boyhtari (Vocals/Guitar), Jake Morse (Drums), Kacey Keith (Bass), and Clara McCoy (Guitar/Synth).

French Police “Cocaine Dolphins”

French Police have released a new single called "Cocaine Dolphins". This is the group’s first single since the release of their "Onyx" EP back in May.

This is the Indie Pop group with dark and cold twist fronted by Brian Flores. They will be touring the country this October and returning home for a show at Thalia Hall on October 19th.

Album Premiere: Karim Nagi “Huzam”

We are proud to be able to premiere the new EP, "Huzam", from Karim Nagi which will officially be released tomorrow, August 19th.

"Huzam" is not only the title of this EP, but it is an Arab maqam musical scale that starts and ends on a microtone.

This project was performed by four Chicago-based native Arab musicians; Karim Nagi (Egypt) is the composer and percussionist, using a fish skin riqq Arab tambourine. Ronnie Malley (Palestine) performs on the oud lute, and was crucial to the album recording process. The ensemble is completed by Naeif Rafeh (Syria) playing the nay flute, and Emad Roushdy Ibrahim (Egypt) on the Arabic-tuned keman violin.

Meat Wave “What Would You Like Me To Do”

Meat Wave have released the latest single, “What Would You Like Me To Do”, from their forthcoming album, Malign Hex, which is due out via Swami Records on October 14th.

This is the punk trio of Ryan Wizniak (drums), Joe Gac (bass) and Chris Sutter (vocals, guitar), and Malign Hex will be their fourth studio album.

Pink Frost “Two Faces”

Pink Frost has released the second single, "Two Faces", from their forthcoming album, Until the Summer Comes, which is due out via Under Road on September 16th.

This is the work of Adam Lukas (guitars, vocals), Alex Shumard (bass, piano, vocals), Paige Sandlin (guitar, maracas), Nate Furstenau (drums), and Angela Mullenhour (vocals). Until the Summer Comes is the first new album from the group since 2017’s New Minds.
