The Nettes “The Loudest Voice”

The Nettes have released a new single called "The Loudest Voice". This is the Folk pop trio of Alex Fiolek, Kristina Cottone, and Sonya Major, and the group recently performed another single from their forthcoming album, "Another Bet", on the car, music, and food driven local podcast Car Con Carne.

You can catch The Nettes at Uncommon Ground (3800 North Clark St) on March 31st with Christine Melody, and Sara Jean Stevens.

Shawn Maxwell “Story at Eleven”

Composer, recording artist and performer, saxophonist Shawn Maxwell is preparing to release his 11th studio album, Story at Eleven, tomorrow, March 24th.

This is the first new music from Maxwell since his 2021 album, Expectation & Experience. For this project he took a slightly different approach, and has composed a long-form piece broken into four distinct movements.

On this album Maxwell is joined by Collin Clauson (Rhodes, Wurlitzer, B-3), Michael Barton (Electric Bass), and Greg Essig (Drums).

Mute Duo “Trust Lanes”

Mute Duo have released the second single, "Trust Lanes", from their forthcoming album, Migrant Flocks, which is due out on April 14th via American Dreams.

This is the project of pedal steel guitarist Sam Wagster and drummer Skyler Rowe.

Pinnings “Squid Kid”

Pinnings recently released debut album, Squid Kid. This is the lo-fi, bedroom folk of local musician and actor Kieran McCabe.

The album took McCabe over two years to compile, and last August he released the album’s lead singles "Northern Whales" b/w "Southern Sharks".

Friko “Crimson to Chrome”

Friko have released a new single, "Crimson to Chrome", via Fire Talk Records.

This is the work of frontman Niko Kapetan, bassist Bailey Minzenberger, and drummer Luke Stamos.

The trio is out on a month long tour that kicked off back on 10th at Empty Bottle and will find them playing SxSW over the next few days.

Em Spel “Ghost Story”

Flutist & Multi-Instrumentalist Em Spel (aka Emma Hospelhorn) has released a new single called "Ghost Story". This is the first new music from Emma since the release of her 2022 album, The Carillon Towers.

On this new single she is joined by V.V. Lightbody (guitars), Mabel Kwan of Ensemble Dal Niente (Synthesizer), and Eric Ridder (drums).
