With a now fully-realized band sound and an EP on the loose, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Chris Kessenich’s project Arts Fishing Club will perform a Nashville release show on November 1st and True Music Room and Bar. Kessenich and his band released the first set of tracks from their EP Human on October 26th; the five songs showcase Kessenich blending his past folk sound with a touch of indie rock and world beats. The track "Cannibals (Song For Aleppo)" — about the Syrian Civil War — has notes of passion from Chris Martin and Bono, and gives a lyrical nod to Steve Perry. Songs with stadium rock electricity like that on this record show that Kessenich and Arts Fishing Club as a whole are headed in an exciting direction; check them out on 11.01 at True Music Room. Take a listen to the first track from Human, "Icarus" below. – Will Sisskind
