A Night of Record Releases at JB’s April 9

Tonight’s show is a rare occasion at Johnny Brenda’s because it will be a record release party for all four acts on the bill. That’s a boatload full of new releases in one night. But anchoring the evening will be Josh Britton’s Psalmships. The former front man of Sweetheart Parade has been mapping out his own journey in the solace of his own home. However, he has enlisted the help of Liz Fullerton on his latest adventure to add even more layers of haunting and longing to his “ghost folk” project whose songs already seem perfect for drinking whisky alone in a dark room full of heartbreak. Britton will be celebrating his split release “Anchored to Oak” with buddy Michael Batchelor who fronts Kettle Pot Black as well as singer-songwriters David Janes and Brian Flanagan (former drummer of Headsoup). Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ – Alexis V.
