A few months ago, NY based artist Malice K performed an unplugged set of his album Avanti that was recorded and released Friday, September 12th.
‘Unplugged’ by Malice K was performed at the Arlo Williamsburg Ballroom on April 19th, 2025.
It’s right up there with the Alice in Chains or Nirvana unplugged in terms of the quality of the performance and the emotions it makes you feel as you watch. [editor’s note: not to mention the number of candles on stage!}
Directed by Nick Ventura, with set design and production by Nasa Hadizadeh of fellow NY-based music publication Alt Citizen, and edited by Johann Rashid (Promiseland), the 50 minute video is like traveling back in time.
The entire album was recorded live that day and is available for streaming.
Originally from Olympia, Washington, Malice K blends grunge and folk seamlessly. His voice pierces through the strings and has a great gravelly quality that’s enrapturing.
