Moontype “Long Country”

This week Moontype announced that they had signed with Orindal Records, and they released their first single, “Long Country“, since releasing their debut album, Bodies of Water, in 2021.

This is the group lead by the vocals of Margaret McCarthy (bass, vocals), along with Andrew Clinkman (guitar, vocals), Joe Suihkonen (guitar, vocals), and Emerson Hunton (drums, vocals).

The new single was actually written awhile ago as we learned from McCarthy herself. “I wrote Long Country during the early pandemic but it’s a feeling I’ve had many times, feeling trapped in who and where I am. I want to escape, drive far away, but wherever you go there you are. Sometimes it feels impossible to change the emotional patterns you’ve built for yourself.

This is the only song where all four of us sing at the same time, and that’s always a special moment.”
