Since we are now witnessing a Brooklyn grunge/90s guitar rock revival, I guess a funk/rap-rock revival was to be expected since the original genre had its climax during those same years in the early 90s with the release of Rage Against The Machine’s debut album and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ "Blood Sugar Sex Magic."
NYC’s PUSHMETHOD brings the genre to new frontiers by effortlessly combining virtually every contemporary style of music into each song, from blues to metal to hip hop (check out the streaming single "Box Me Up"). A band that is sure to turn many heads (teen ones in particular) in the very near future with a wide variety of talent, it seems their destiny is truly in their own hands. They’re also not a afraid to throw a ballad in for good measure. – Joe Fish
