Weekend Warrior, December 12 – 14

PhilaMOCA is hosting an out of this world Xmas edition of its Masoleum Party series this Saturday night that will feature electronic music pioneer Charles Cohen providing some interstellar soundscapes. And it will double as the album release party for darkwave/post-punk duo Hot Guts‘ latest Wilds. Ever since Void Vision‘s Shari Vari replaced drummer Greg Frantz in March, the group has been revitalized with more of an eerie synth edge, and their first recording together is as enchanting as it is macabre. The evening will be headlined by local vets Crash Course in Science, who will likely be previewing some tunes from their upcoming album that is currently in the works. PhilaMOCA, 531 N. 12th St., 8pm, $12, All Ages – Bill McThrill
