New Releases from Slutever and Hezekiah Jones Drop Today!

Slutever’s Pretend to Be Nice and Hezekiah JonesHave You Seen Our New Fort? are two albums that officially drop today and that we highly recommend for you to grab. The latest effort from much-buzzed-about female duo Slutever delivers with brash, punchy tunes full of pop hooks and endearing yet in your face lyrics and vocals. The maturity in the production of Pretend to Be Nice is certainly a step up from the raw-bones recordings of their debut Sorry, I’m Not Sorry making them really another young, promising band to watch on our beloved local music scene. And you should already know Hezekiah Jones a.k.a. Raphael Cutrufello. He has been influencing Philly’s folk/singer-songwriter scene for years now, and with his new full-length, you find the local music community heavily influencing his work – particularly the album’s producer Andrew Lipke. Sonically, there is less “folk music for the end of the world”, and more songs for the joy of living on New Fort. We recently interviewed Cutrufello and Pepe Jones a.k.a. Phil D’Agostino before their early album release party last month at World Café Live and chatted a little bit about their latest release, which you can read HERE. You can purchase Slutever’s Pretend to Be Nice via Bantic Media and Hezekiah Jones’ Have You Seen Our New Fort? via Yer Bird Records. Below are tracks from both albums for you to check out.
