You might know guitarist Tom Hamilton from his work with local electronic jam band Brothers Past. He started his side project American Babies as a songwriting outlet more heavily influenced by The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen than The Disco Biscuits. During Brothers Past’s hiatus, it became more than a side project with a revolving door of some of the jam band scene’s most notable rising stars. Well, Brothers Past is back and so is Hamilton with his American Babies’ sophomore effort the country-tinged Flawed Logic, which was produced by Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Man Man, Hoots and Hellmouth) and is available via Engine Room Recordings. He’ll be celebrating his Philly CD release party tonight at World Café Live and expect plenty of special guests like Joe Russo (Further), Dave Dreiwitz (WEEN), Scott Metzger (RANA), Eric Slick (Dr. Dog), and Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits) along with openers Mason Porter and Former Belle. World Café Live, 3025 Walnut St., 8pm, $12 adv/$14 door, All Ages – H.M. Kauffman
