Folk You Philly Presents Summah Party Platter at Connie’s Ric Rac July 8

When Mike Baurer stepped away from being a part of the Toy Soldiers Duo and the short lived It’s Us out of West Philadelphia, he went behind the scenes and found a niche in covering his favorite musicians in his blog Folk You Philly. With one takeover showcase under his belt, Baurer is ready to unleash a special Summah Party Platter that will be dished out at Connie’s Ric Rac tonight. You’ll be treated to music from 6 eclectic bands and a special secret guest. The Devil’s Horns Kill the Matador should be ready to deliver a tight set after returning from tour with Banned Books and recording a highly coveted Daytrotter session. Ron Gallo will be joined by the rest of Toy Soldiers after sharing the stage last night at Johnny Brenda’s with Nashville buddy Jordan Hull. The full band will be getting ready to perform at big upcoming events like Bethlehem’s Musikfest and WHYY Connections Festival opening for Dr. Dog. Before they set foot into the studio and begin recording a new album, Arrah and the Ferns will impress with their illuminating indie pop. The Powder Kegs are back from tour so tunes from their breakthrough album Amanicans should be ready to explode. And rounding out the evening will be music from Up the Chain and The Jantiques.
