J.D. Wilkes is sort of kicking it in Music City this week. The Legendary Shack Shakers rock Hard Rock tonight with raw cowpunk blues, and on Saturday, Wilkes’ side project The Dirt Daubers (known for a decidedly less hellacious brand of rockabilly than the Shack Shakers) take over Exit/In with The Devil Makes Three. The Daubers, who are Wilkes, wife Jessica and Shack Shakers bassist (and Nashvillian) Mark Robertson, hit up Nashville and a handful of other cities to promote the Sept. 13 release of Wake Up Sinners! Expect blasting harmonicas and banjo-plucked originals and covers from this LP, which is the band’s debut on their own Colonel Knowledge Records.
