Beanie Sigel Reps the Classics at The Blockley Aug. 26

Notorious Philly hip hop veteran, Beanie Sigel will be taking the stage tonight at The Blockley, alongside local up-and-comer Lynn Charles. Back in May, Sigel announced that he cancelled the production of his fifth studio album, originally titled The Closure, and would be retiring from the game. However, it was only a brief two weeks before he resigned with G-Unit Records and started working on his latest project, now boldly named The Classic. On July 13, Sigel released the album’s first single, “B-Boy Stance,” a tribute to classic hip hop over an old school drum machine beat with snippets of the various golden era songs he mentions throughout the track. So be sure to come out and celebrate the return of a local legend to hip hop and find out for yourself if the bold album title, The Classic, is warranted. The Blockley, 3801 Chestnut, $13-$15, 8:30 pm, 21+Dan Brightcliffe
