Before ?uestlove debuts his signature Korean/soul inspired “The ? Drumstick” to VIP Attendees of the Popped Fest Food Bazaar over the weekend, the music director of the Jimmy Fallon show and pragmatic percussionist of The Roots will be going back to his roots as a DJ when he spins at The Blockley tonight. The artist who has collaborated with everyone from Bernie Worrell and Christina Aguilera to Hank Williams Jr. and Dave Chapelle has recently made multiple appearances at the West Philly venue, and he has been bringing plenty of great musicians and DJs along for the ride. Not too many artists have been bestowed with the honor of having Gamble and Huff name a street after them. But that’s just one chapter in the life of soulful funk rockers Swift Technique who have also challenged Bill Clinton to dust off the sax and jam with them, and have opened for the legendary Wu Tang Clan. They’ve been recording some new studio tracks so expect a preview of them tonight. The Blockley, 3801 Chestnut St., 9pm, $10 adv/$12 door, 21+ – Bill McThrill
