There was certainly a buzz in the air and the interweb on Wednesday. The Clap Your Hand Say Yeah show was sold out at Union Transfer for the release of their first album in four years, but the vibe at the new R5, Bowery Presents, and 4CM venue was that the majority of the people were actually more interested to see what had become of the old Spaghetti Warehouse than who was performing that evening. There were plenty of friends, artists, fans, and in the indiestry folks roaming the spacious place who were there to congratulate local area DIY punk kid done good Sean Agnew, who had been vacuuming the place up until the doors opened, as well as corporate music big wigs checking out the competition. But UT was full of smiles and friendly faces ready to drink and hear how Clap Your Hand Say Yeah and opener Policia sounded through its new killer sound system.
