Dave Hartley has had a very busy last few months playing bass on tour with his band The War on Drugs and backing Sondre Lerche. However, this Saturday night at PhilaMOCA – he’ll get a chance to share his “own creative impulses” with his side project Nightlands, which started during the long wait for The War on Drugs’ Slave Ambient to be completed. With Nightlands, sometimes he performs with a band, but Hartley will be taking the stage solo tomorrow evening as he plans to test out some new material that he’s been working on for his next album, which he hopes to be ready for next summer. He’ll be joined by the beloved weirdo minimalist local folk duo Norwegian Arms and the guitar wizardry of Dustin Wong (Ponytail, Ecstatic Sunshine).
