Tonight will be the U.S. debut of Budapest-based Bloom! Dance Collective at The Arts Bank, and there will also be another performance tomorrow evening as well. The international ensemble made up of artists from Hungary, Spain and Italy will perform its award-winning work CITY, a politically charged dance theater piece. Each evening will be paired with fresh “Third Wheel Blind Dates,” all new trios where musicians and dancers are matched for first-time-ever collaborations. There will be musical contributions from Philly-based artists like Man Man’s Chris Powell, Bardo Pond’s Aaron Igler, The Mural & The Mint’s Michael Kiley, and many others. The performances are presented by Thirdbird, a shared endeavor of Dustin Hurt (Bowerbird founder) and Anna Drozdowski (Ladybird proprietor). You can check out the promo video (NSFW) for CITY below.
