DaQuan (Sgt. Sass) & MC Ice Rod at PhilaMOCA May 13

DaQuan, one half of local underground queer hip hop duo Sgt. Sass, will set off the Mother’s Day party tonight at PhilaMOCA. DaQuan has been building an impressive discography outside of Sgt. Sass’s party friendly jams. His most recent tape, The W.A.R.: Warrior Art Rebel, is a collection of tracks produced by DJ Rx with lyrics based on a short story by DaQuan, which fans can read HERE. Headlining the show is MC Ice Rod, doing his Chatroulette freestyle dorm room party…yes this is exactly what you think. Rod decorates the stage with typical college dorm room accessories (Bob Marley and Pulp Fiction posters) and does improvised raps about the people he comes across on Chatroulette. They’ll also be joined by Brooklyn’s I.K.P. (Infamous King of Positivity). So treat your mom to some hip hop weirdness at the old mausoleum.
