Looks like Four Corners Management is continuing its takeover of the Philly music scene. The crew, who is partly responsible for Union Transfer, resurrecting Ortlieb’s and is working on bringing a much-needed music venue to South Philly with Boot & Saddle, is now opening another new music venue as well as a beer garden and restaurant named Morgan’s Pier (221 N. Columbus Blvd. on the riverfront where Rock Lobster used to stand). They’ll once again be teaming up with R5 Productions and Bowery Presents, and has also added Making Time’s Dave Pianka to the equation. Dave P will be responsible for curating the lineup of international and local DJs, and R5 will be booking the free Saturday afternoon concert series (which will kick off June 9 with Bleeding Rainbow). The restaurant’s menu has been created by Mémé’s David Katz, who has also invited Michael Solomonov (Zahav, Percy Street Barbecue and Federal Donuts), Terrence Feury (Fork), Top Chef Kevin Sbraga (Sbraga) and other renown chefs to BBQ this summer (with all items priced under $10). You’ll get to top off your meal and beat the heat with some tasty Little Baby’s Ice Cream. The grand opening will be this Memorial Day Weekend, and you can check out more deets about Morgan’s Pier from their press release HERE.
