Get Lost in Spacin’ at KFN Sept. 16

Spacin’ have never lacked for creativity in seasoning their music with the kinds of jangly, fuzzed-out experimental sounds that have been common to Philadelphia since the days of Azusa Plane. Their psychedelia-infused jams are always a great starting point for what’s going on in Philly’s space-garage-lo-fi scene at any given moment. The band’s steadfastness earned their debut Deep Thuds our June Album of the Month spot. Where Spacin’ veers off into cosmic, abstract ruminations, The Residuels are there tonight to bring it back into more concrete territory. Their tunes are straight-up garage-blues rock standards, embellished with the unmistakable talents of Creepoid‘s Pat Troxell and Moon Women‘s Justin Pittney. They’re in equally good company with French rockers Jack of Heart and Super Vacations at Kung Fu Necktie tonight. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N.
