Tonight at The Fire we’ve got a show presented by recently coagulated booking collective The Guild. It is the record release show for Luther, a pretty new melodic-punk band from Philly by way of Jersey. They got some nice praise and well-deserved hype for their debut EP Siblings and Sevens, and between touring, touring and more touring, they found time to record their debut LP Let’s Get You Somewhere Else (Chunksaah Records), which they’ll be celebrating its release this evening. The music is excitable and pretty damn catchy, but still punk, so don’t worry. The lineup is deep with local buddies Idiot Kid and Scarier Area, but also has NJ pop-punkers Static Radio and UK band The Arteries. The band has been touring with punk stalwarts The Bouncing Souls and Fishtown homies The Menzingers all over the place, so this will be a raucous homecoming sure to go deep into the night. You can booze your heart out at The Fire, so come out and have a good time. The Fire, 412 W. Girard Ave., 8pm, $8, 21+ (Photo by Connor Byrne) – Adam G.
