So I still don’t know why Kung Fu Necktie doesn’t post anything on their site or calendar about the Phonographic Arts shows happening on their second floor and why the Phono Arts dudes don’t make it easier for me to find deets about their show, but there is a good one happening tonight with Far-Out Fangtooth and Spacin’ opening for Dan Melchior. BTW: Have you checked out Fangtooth’s EP for HoZac Records The Thorns? The release is a good one that definitely deserves a revisit with its hypnotic tribal beats and explosive guitars. You should already know how I feel about Spacin’s Deep Thuds (if not, you can read my review HERE). If you missed out on grabbing the vinyl with the drippy-tongued “Sticky Fingers” logo, then you should grab the new pressing with a “freaky lips and eyeball” (heard that the Rolling Stones’ law team wasn’t down with the last cover – lame). Prolific English singer/songwriter/guitarist Dan Melchior also has new material from his album The Backward Path (released via Northern Spy) that he’ll be sharing with everyone, and like he posted on the FB events page, “Tell your friends! – pretend it’s something they’ll like!” Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., $10, 8pm, 21+ – Q.D. Tran
