Fans of rising emcee Gliss (formerly Young Gliss) are surely anxious to hear his much-talked-about upcoming release with Les Professionnels entitled High on a Weekday. Well, it still doesn’t have an official release date yet, but you can swing by Silk City tonight for a “glimmer” of his smooth, laidback flow. Gliss will be performing live this evening as part of the BALANCE: Music Showcase, whose theme is geared towards bringing together and finding balance among the local gangster and backpack rappers in one show. He’ll also be joined by Chic Raw, Theodore Grams, Chase Allen and many others celebrating their love for the Philly hip hop community. Silk City, 435 Spring Garden St., 8pm, $10, 21+ – H.M. Kauffman
