A cheerful me before starting Crawling Up the Stairs was a mess of depression and lonliness mere measures into the album, but the true power of their songwriting came through with "Thousand Year Old Child". This song is the chillest of chill songs. After literally crawling out of hell, "Thousand Year Old Child" was like an injection of peace. Pure couldn’t be more right when it comes to describing Pure X as each song provokes a true emotional reality, something so few can capture.
