The blue-eyed soul of folk-country duo Hannah & Maggie has as clear a vision for their sound as anything we’ve come across yet in New York’s unplugged circuit. Taking cues from the soft soul of Simon & Garfunkel, coupled with the ‘countrier’ moments of The Indigo Girls, these two singer-songwriters blend their voices together in a harmonious upshot to all things we can still admirably claim to love about America. From last record ‘Muscle & Bone’ comes the short stories found in the steel string dance of ‘Burlington, VT,’ or the softly lilting poetry dedicated to their friend in ‘Sara.’ Catch these ladies when they come around to Fat Baby to play on Wed, Oct 9th at 11pm. – Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets)
