South Street comes alive tonight with food, art, music, culture, and more as it pays host to both Night Market and ART/GAGE. The Food Trust will have its usual barrage of nearly 80 food trucks descending upon the iconic strip for what is guaranteed to be the largest edition of this culinary event yet. Meanwhile, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and a number of other art collectives and galleries will provide a plentiful showcase of local artists during ART/GAGE. But of course, both events converging upon the same area wouldn’t be complete without a carnival of circus performers and local musicians to provide some enlightening entertainment. The 9th Street stage starts off strong with the vibrant, throwback indie pop tunes of Circadian Rhythms, and is followed up by the soulful, sex pop vibrations of Drink Up Buttercup/White Birds alums Night Panther. Add in the impassioned weirdo-folk of Norwegian Arms and a headlining set from buzz-worthy folk maestro Strand of Oaks, and you have an evening of music that is not to be missed – seriously!
