What is it about the process of making an album that leads to bands to breaking up? Some give it that one last push to see how it goes, but sometimes even the accolades are not enough. Another growing trend that I’ve seen lately is the release and farewell show all in one evening. Well, it seems like the former might be happening with Turning Violet Violet, or it could simply be what I like to call “band growing pains.” Whatever it is. After four years together, the band began to get some traction with last year’s release Double Cure, riding on the strength of the track “Cold Bread”; however, the group recently shared a new single “Cherry Blossom” with the message: “Our final single. Come get it.” Tonight, the band will be playing their “last headlining show for the forseeable future” at The Boot & Saddle with The Weaks, a new project from former Dangerous Ponies Evan Bernard and Chris Baglivo, and The Dollys (ex-Green Paper). If it’s any consolation, Turning Violet Violet promise that you’ll find their members popping up on other projects, but for now, this will be all for the group. The Boot & Saddle, 1131 S.
