Slaughter Beach, Dog Opening for Hostage Calm at The Barbary Feb. 25

Modern Baseball’s Jake Ewald’s side project steps into the Barbary tonight, opening a mid-week showcase. Slaughter Beach, Dog continues an established standard of developing lyrically rich songs that are personally relatable with thought-provoking images and loose Velcro-sticky catchy phrases. That coupled with a tight pop-punk instrumentation, allowing the words to dissolve and sink in yet retains a reserve of strong-willed force when called upon. This bill also features another emotive outfit in CLIQUE, whose constant flowing instrumentation provides the feeling of perpetual motion. The night is rounded out by intensely smooth, melodic hardcore of Such Gold, while Hostage Calm headline amid their final run of shows.
