In honor of its seventh issue, the only magazine that’s dedicated to women guitarists and bassists, She Shreds Magazine, has put together an East Coast tour showcase of female shredders. And their stop at PhilaMOCA tonight will be headlined by Allison Crutchfield and the rest of Swearin’, whom have been recording new material. So expect the rock ‘n’ roll tour de force to give a suitable preview. Amanda X will thunder in with their infectious lyrics and fast-paced garage-rock sound that has helped them blow up since the release of Amnesia over the summer. Since arriving on the scene, New York transplants Mannequin Pussy have been obliterating DIY shows with hard-hitting drums, quickened gang vocals, and sick guitar shreds. So they’ll definitely be in their element for this one! The show will also feature the promising new solo side project of Field Mouse’s Rachel Browne, Anomie, Girls Rock Philly incarnation, Jane Doe, and DJ Sad 13 (a.k.a. Sadie Dupuis from Speedy Ortiz).
