Throughout the years, vocalist Kate Faust has tantalized with her lush versatile vocals amid soulfully adventurous pop/R&B/electronic backdrops. The singer-songwriter’s latest album of covers, entitled Undercover, officially released on the first week of the year, is a symphonic, synth-pop success that has drawn up comparisons to the likes of Bjork and Regina Spektor for very good reason. Tonight at Johnny Brenda’s will be Faust’s first show in support of the EP, and she’ll be opening for noteworthy Austin-based minimalist composer Bayonne. The night will also feature an opening set by Museyroom. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201. N Frankford Ave., 9pm, $12, 21+ – Bill McThrill
