Weekend Warrior, Feb. 19 – 21

The Loved Ones deliver brash, energetic punk-rock mayhem. Beginning in 2003, the band has gone on to sign with Fat Cat Records, toured the globe, and released plenty of albums filled with heavy-hitting anthems. Around 2010, the band unexpectedly went on an unannounced hiatus, well, until last year, when they surfaced with a short run of shows already booked to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album Keep Your Heart, which is being played in its entirety. The sold-out home gig is this Saturday night at Union Transfer, and they’ll be joined by tour buddies, Cayetana. The gals will also link up with Amanda X and Screaming Females next month for an exciting Planned Parenthood benefit at First Unitarian Church. The evening will also mark the triumphant return of Little Big League, who are amped to get back on stage together for the first time since the band needed to take a hiatus, after an incredible album release show, to deal with personal issues. But don’t fret if you couldn’t get a ticket for this weekend, because they’ll be playing again next Saturday with Lithuania at Everybody Hits. Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St, 8pm, SOLD OUT, All Ages – Bill McThrill
