Despite being now three years old, the only single released to date by Brooklyn-based shoegazers Vivienne Eastwood still manages to have heart-wrenching and mind-altering effects on us. The track is entitled “Rose Pedals,” (with a "d"), which is either a clever play on words linking back to shoegazer music, or an hilariously appropriate typo – we experienced something similar a few years ago when one of our interns thought guitar pedals was spelled ‘petals‘ – awww…
With its expansive reverberation and undulating guitars, this is a song that may cause the listeners to lose track of their surroundings. If they enjoy it, they may want to regain awareness before the weekend and find their way to Sunnyvale, where Vivienne Eastwood will be performing with Teen Body and Treatment on July 2nd. – Madeleine Grossman
