We first came upon Justin Pittney as the frontman for rad, mysterious, post-punk outfit Moon Women. After the group’s disbandment, he went on to form Residuels with Creepoid drummer Pat Troxell, who eventually left the group to live in Savannah, GA for a short stint to record an album and concentrate on touring with his Creepoid bandmates. Pittney continued to record under the French-inflected moniker, expanding the project to a trio that would include Mike Cammarata (Suburban Living, Drink Up Buttercup, Night Panther) on drums and Kyle Garvey (The Interest Group) on bass. The band recorded some new originals and covers that would eventually catch the attention of Iggy Pop, along with us here at The Deli Philly. We had a chance to chat with him before he takes the stage tomorrow night at PhilaMOCA to perform “a sorta of psychedelic improvised piece of music” called “Gravity”. You can check out our interview with Pittney HERE as well as a new video that he created for the centerpiece of tomorrow evening’s set (below).
