The TLA is set to burn down tonight. Not by malice, not by terrorists, not by pyromaniacs, and no, Great White is not playing. King Britt will be reuniting Sylk 130 to perform When the Funk Hits the Fan, his classic release, along with selections from Re-member’s Only. When the Funk changed Philly, and left techno, house, dance, and remix producers with their jaws dropped, like an artfully placed break. Also joining King Britt on stage this evening are former collaborators and friends Ursula Rucker, Lady Alma, Tanja Dixon, Vicki Miles, Alison Crockette, Capitol A, Chuck Treece, Tim Motzer, Anthony Tidd, Damon Bennett, Japhar Barron, Elliot Levin and more than likely, many more surprise and special guests. Boy Blake will be hosting this memorable event. TLA, 330 South St., 8:30pm, $20, All Ages (Photo by Gary Dan) – Keith Kelley
