Folks happening to walk a few blocks west of the Berks station this Saturday night may find themselves stumbling upon a cathartic congregation of experimental techno and acid house at Berks Warehouse. Profligate’s music spans from minimal to extreme, from the mellow aesthetics of lo-fi bedroom pop to an intensity of presence found at industrial raves. The solo project from Noah Anthony has most recently collaborated with Elaine Kahn to achieve a sound reminiscent to Australian electronic outfit Severed Heads. Profligate will be joined by fellow Philadelphian, Speaking Parts, who will be celebrating the release of a new album available on cassette via No-Tech. The NYC-based experimental label was co-founded by Ciara Black, who will be in town headlining this evening’s bill. She’ll also be supported by Boston’s Isabella, a.k.a. Isabella Koen. According to the show’s co-organizers, All Mutable and Embalming Lately, all profits from the event will be donated, so those in attendance will get to enjoy partying in the name of altruism and artistic integrity.
