For those Nashville music aficionados who know Scissormen, you will love knowing that the touring band’s front man Ted Drozdowski has ten new songs in the form of the crowdfunded record Coyote Motel, his latest solo work unleashed for your ears as of January 25th. The album marks Drozdowski’s embracing of a musical style he calls "cosmic roots", which he says come from eclectic influences such as Muddy Waters, Pink Floyd, and and Daniel Lanois. You hear elements of those artists in songs like "Still Among The Living", where a slow beat churning with wandering guitars and rumbling bass arpeggios carries Drozdowski’s haunting lyrics toward your memory. Drozdowski will perform tracks like "Still Among The Living" from Coyote Motel at The 5 Spot during the album’s release party on February 16th; you can watch the music video for the song — which features aerial dancing from Nashville’s own Suspended Gravity Circus — below. – Will Sisskind
