Let The Marías seduce you with their latest single, "Cariño." On the video for the track, the indie-pop quintet wanders in a frolicking manner with the same improvisational flair of a classic French New Wave film. The song’s smoky, yet alluring arrangements are the perfect soundtrack for velvety leader singer María to put forth her inner yé-yé as she rides a Vespa across a barren paradise. María may sing "Cariño" in her native language (it translates to sweetheart in Spanish), but there’s no need for a translator to enjoy the band’s limber guitar strums and swooning brass melody.
"Cariño" is the first single off of The Marías’ forthcoming EP, Superclean Volume II, which is due out sometime in September. Catch them at the Lodge Room Highland Park on September 29. Juan Rodríguez
