Philly’s own Purling Hiss will be reverberating through Johnny Brenda’s tonight. Heavy, abrasive psychedelia with a tinge of pop this time around will be served straight to your ears by the power trio. Their sixth studio album, High Bias, which was released earlier this month via Drag City, is a watermark for Mike Polizze-led project, as much as it is a logical progression from his earlier works, and it is nothing short of a total sonic trip. Joining the onslaught of noise this evening will be local lo-fi psych outfit Honey Radar and Baltimore’s Hothead. Just stay away from the brown acid, and you’ll have a blast. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N.
