On her latest EP, Dylan Jane surrounds herself with a cavalcade of local folk stalwarts. Produced by Brian Dale Allen Strouse (The Lawsuits), Deceiving Yourself and Everyone Else will be released on October 7. Featuring Friendship’s Peter Gill on pedal steel as well as Chelsea Mitchell (Dirty Dollhouse) on backing vocals, the album’s lead single, “What It Seems,” enlists a rolling, folk feel as bass, piano and percussion set the wheels in motion. Steadying the collage of twisting semi-dreamy imagery, the backing vocals offer a glimmer of brightness amid the tug and pull of contemplation. Dylan Jane will be celebrating the record’s release this Thursday, October 6 at Bourbon & Branch, which will also include Friendship, Solar and Chelsea Mitchell.
