Cold Fronts EP Release Show at The Barbary Nov. 9

If Cold Fronts’ now infamous shows at the Rathaus are any indicator of what to expect for their record release party at The Barbary, it’s going to get dangerously rowdy. However, while Craig Almquist and Al Smith (who founded the band) may have cultivated a dedicated fan base playing late-night shows at the 40-littered, broken-down, University City warehouse nicknamed the Rat, they’ve since scored a Warner Bros Records deal after impressing Sire Records founder Seymour Stein at an impromptu show at SXSW. True to their style, the new high-energy EP, Forever, incites that kind of wild, bouncy, whip-your-head like a maniac dancing (just take a listen to its single "Hit Me"), which sounds like a romcom theme song that’s stuck in your head weeks after you saw the movie. Cold Fronts are opening for Chicago-based Empires, and are currently supporting them on a string of dates this month. Get there early for the all-ages performance, and get ratty.
