It was just over a week ago that Pure Adult played a raucous set on BABY TV, the socially distanced version of indie venue Baby’s All Right, and this writer is still recovering. The Brooklyn-duo-turned-live-foursome is known for filtering adult concerns–e.g., late capitalism, social control, granny panties–through a childlike impulsiveness whose end result is a big wonderful mess of burbling synths, stuttering drums, gratuitous guitar pedal abuse and brief spasms of strutting rawk. Pure Adult’s mix-and-match aesthetic is not unlike a kid let loose with a 128-count box of crayons, fresh piles of Play-doh and a prescription of Ritalin. The set below opens with the band’s as-yet-unreleased “Ain’t I A Woman” (shout out to Sojourner Truth) segueing into “The New Guillotine” (see underwear fetish above), a track from the band’s debut EP S/T (self-titled, that is). In these five minutes you get a pretty good idea of what they’re about: a feral Foucauldian funhouse ride that’s equal parts “queasy listening” and raw ecstatic rush. (Jason Lee)
food house “Ride”
Fraxiom has teamed up the California based artist Gupi for a new project called food house. The duo is dropping their self-titled debut album via Dog Show Records on October 29th. The album’s lead single is called "Ride" and is accompanied by the wild video below.
This is experimental pop and on their debut single they pay tribute to the Target CVS parking lot. They duo has previously collaborated on Gupi’s breakout single "Thos Moser" from his 2020 Dog Show debut album None.
Silver Liz “There’s No Need”
Back in May Silver Liz released their first single in three year’s, the Dream Pop gem, "Microwave S’Mores". The duo of Carrie & Matt Wagner have now dropped the follow-up "There’s No Need". This new single is heavily influenced by Vaporwave and truly shows the range of styles this duo is looking to embrace.
Single Premiere: Jacob Freeman “Mask Mirror”
We are proud to be able to premiere the latest single, "Mask Mirror", from Jacob Freeman. This is the third single from Freeman’s forthcoming debut album, Is The Mirror, which will be released tomorrow (October 23rd).
Freeman shared the single’s origin with us and it came to him after a planned trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras with a newfound, semi-long distance romantic partner. Instead, they traded the trip for a more intimate celebration at home here in Chicago. Freeman’s partner gave him a silver Mardi Gras mask and a few days later as he was driving back to New York City for school, the reflection of the mask caught his eye in the rearview mirror and the song followed.
Single Premiere: Red Spot Rhythm Section
We are proud to be able to premiere the new single from Red Spot Rhythm Section, “Hard to Give Thanks" B/W "Foundation”. This is the folk and reggae fusion outlet of Joshua Siegal, and for this single he has enlisted the guest talents of Shane Jonas (Akasha, Lowdown Brass Band) on vocals, Mike Bruno (Spare Parts) on drums, and Michael Bizar (AJ Croce) on lead guitar.
This is Siegal’s first new single since 2018 and it was partially recorded remotely after their scheduled studio time was cancelled back in March.
Abbi Rajasekhar “Seeing The Circle”
Abbi Rajasekhar has released her second EP, "Seeing The Circle", of 2020. Back in July she had released her first EP, "Nienna", as a solo artist and first since in general since 2015. Where "Nienna" was a concept EP sung from the point of view from the character by the same name from the Tolkien book Silmarillion, this new EP is more personal, but also a touch lighter than its predecessor.
Dylan Chambers lets loose in new single “Ya Feelin’ Good?”
With a cascading euphoria channeled via luscious falsettos and slippery guitar licks, Dylan Chambers escapes 2020 in his new single “Ya Feelin’ Good?” and does it with hot flair. Funky and free, with a bap-bap lightning beat, “Ya Feelin’ Good?” has an aim to get you dancing, and Dylan Chambers takes command with an energetic attitude that is felt both in the cream-smooth pre-choruses and in the song’s tail-end electric guitar shred. Dylan Chambers, a Los Angeles resident since 2011, allows himself a moment of celebration, during a career that keeps on blossoming through hard work, and invites you to join in: stream “Ya Feelin’ Good?” for your ticket to the party. – René Cobar

The album’s second single was called "Tell Me I’m Not" and was released back in August along side the trippy video below.
Piece of Cake “Black Brain”
Piece of Cake has released a new single called "Black Brain". The single is accompanied by the great Dan Procaccio directed video below.
This is the Indie Pop/Rock group fronted by the powerful vocals and presents of Brynn Bixby. This is the first new music from the group since the release of their self-titled debut album back in 2016.
Motel Breakfast “Left on Deming”

The band, consisting of Conor Brennan, Drue Devente, Jimmy Drenovsky, Jesse Nasadowski, and Mick O’Donnell, has been slowly released tracks from the EP over the last couple months. The latest track to be released and be accompanied by a fun take on a lyrics video is called "Sandman".
