New Music, Emerging from your Local Scene
The Addisons recently released a new single called “Fake It”. This is the first new music we have received from the ’90’s-influenced Indie Rock band since their 2018 EP “Here It Comes Again”.
This is the work of Tom Counihan (vocals, guitar), Dave Lysien (vocals, guitar), Jesse Carmona (drums), and Rick Uncapher (bass).
Avante-garde electronic trio Kill Alters will take up residency at Market Hotel for the duration of October, lending their disconcerting, experimental sound to the Brooklyn venue every Thursday throughout the year’s spookiest month. Building on the momentum of their three archival releases earlier this year (Kill Alters Archives Vol. 3, Bonnie Baxter Cobweb Sensations, and Kill Alters Vol. 4), the New York noise outfit will accompanied by a slew of supporting acts, some of which include Brian Chase (of the Yeah Yeahs), Ikue Mori, Hisham A, and more, all of which will culminate with a Halloween “Mutant Massacre” performance. Attendees will also have the opportunity to give donations to Al Otro Lado, a bi-national legal services nonprofit who provide advocacy representation to deportees and other individuals in need of immigration-related civil rights services. Tough Age are a power pop trio on Mint Records spending most of their time in Toronto. They have a rather lengthy discography available on their bandcamp page which includes their latest release “Shame”. Earlier this year they released a video for the single “Me in Glue”. This tune is a catchy lo-fi rocker accompanied by a music video which shows the singer of the group having just a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. The guitar licks sound happy though! Tough Age will be playing a huge show at Junction City Music Hall on Saturday October 19th with the legendary BA Johnston and pop punk extraordinaire’s First Base. – Kris Gies
Cheap City wants to welcome you to its sonic carnival of funky basslines and grandiose trashings. The group’s latest single “Welcome to Lizardville” is a festive track that leads listeners up and down the band’s tendencies for funk-punk stylings: one minute you are grooving and moving to an infectious bassline, and the next you are drowning in a gritty pool of cathartic noise-rock. The new track is tailored for crowd-interaction, and one could imagine the song being a flamboyant hit live. Cheap City keeps the big sound going and preserves that maniac jam-band feel that has always characterized the group; the good times keep on rolling. On their poignant new single, "Branches," Trends deal with time’s ever-changing nature. The surging first single, which started as the lo-fi project of Marina Paiz, considers how we deal with change in our lives, and how the people we care for come in and out of our lives—some we outgrow and others outgrow us. It’s a bittersweet feeling that Paiz conveys through the now quartet’s powerful blend of shimmering guitar leads and surging choruses. "Time passes me by/ pieces, they flake right off me," she softly sings, following the song’s placid ebb and flow before it builds into a driving indie-rock scorcher.

Nickel and Dime Ops, Ziarra Washington, and Juwan Crawley make their Revolution debut on October 17, for Vol.43. This appointment with the monthly series marks a change of day and time, as the show is now held on a Thursday at 8 pm, with doors opening at 7:30 pm. What hasn’t changed is the variety of genres represented in this inclusive, curated appointment with emerging NYC artists.
Nickel and Dime OPS is a jazz-infused hip hop project based in NYC. Lyricist Nickel Killsmics performs alongside female vocalist Victoria Cave, backed by a group of jazz musicians including a powerful horn section. They have released two albums over the past six years incorporating jazzy elements with modern rap, creating a truly unique and exciting listening experience.
With an energetic stage presence and catchy lyrics, Ziarra knows how to entertain with her contagious personality, establishing a flashy and dramatic atmosphere inspired by pop icons like Cher, Prince, and Lady Gaga. Her EP “Heart” was released this year and includes five tracks that highlight her delicate yet firm voice and songwriting styles ranging from energetic pop to electronic soul-pop.
Actor singer-songwriter Juwan Crawley is a refreshing and invigorating artist, with a voice positively meant for Broadway. Crawley released his first EP, “Becoming” in June of this year, each track giving the listener a brief look into his robust talent.

Lavisher has released a new single, “Garment”, from their forthcoming debut album, Drastic Shadows, which will be released on October 18th via Nefarious Industries.
Lavisher is lead by the vocals and guitar of Gavin Cushman III, and this album follow’s their 2017 self-titled debut EP.
Legendary Doom Metal group Novembers Doom are celebrating their 30th anniversary by releasing a new album called Nephilim Grove on November 1st.

Jackson Davis has released the second single and title track from his forthcoming album, In The Morning. This is inventive Dream Pop that Davis is masterfully recording on his own in his local apartment. The album’s first single was dropped back in April and was called “Hold My Hand”.

We cannot think of a better way to ignite your weekend than by presenting you to a group that blends the best of the ’90s and ’00s at the highest speed possible. Sneeze is pop-punk meets grunge vehemently and in ever-pleasing fashion: the group’s brand new record Fin is filled with fuzzed-out riffs and heavy-handed drum fills that progress quickly toward mosh-inducing power-pop breakdowns. Take tracks like "Not in Service" as prime examples of the group’s ability to switch from rapid punk rhythms into intricate-swelling atmospheric segments that set up more instrumental madness. Just as you think you are catching your breath, the band has another progression too good not to bang your head to a la 2003. Tracks like "A Winter in Barcelona" flirt with nu-metal and showcase the group’s instrumental proficiency and lust for noise. The Boston-based band is revving its engine for November dates throughout the West Coast, which are sure to be a good time.
